What it does
Gero is a mobile web app for women who have just been treated for a vaginal or urinary infection: BV, yeast(VVC), trichomoniasis or UTI. It covers the weeks after the prescription ends, when most women are left to themselves. User picks what she was treated for and gets aftercare cards for that condition: what helps, what to avoid, when to go back, with reminders she can set up. Every card shows an evidence tier and links to its source -- so user can tell tested advice from folk advice. Women with no diagnosis get an "I'm not sure" track that helps them get seen: don't self-treat first, which tests to ask for, what to note before the visit. Gero never diagnoses. It is built on manually-checked, cited claims.
Are women the primary users, and how does that show
BV, VCC, UTI, and Trichomoniasis affect mostly women, and these conditions can recur often. Women face three problems: 1. Unaware of any simple recurrence-prevention habits post-treatment. 2. Advice is scattered everywhere; which ones are good to trust for non-researchers? 3. How do I know if one habit is working for me? With Gero, we transform these problems into actionable decisions for her: - Simple, proven habits to prevent recurrence are filtered out for you for your specific condition. - Every piece of advice carries an easy-to-understand description, an evidence tier and a source. - Insufficiently trialled advice is reported with honesty, noting that undertested does not mean disproven. - Daily check-in history is saved and trackable with the option to generate monthly reports. - The "not sure" track never asks her to match symptoms, but prepares her for a clinic visit. - Knowledge bank and quizzes provided for non-actionable advice. - No account and no server; data is safe.
